It’s not a surprise that TEDxLusaka and BongoHive celebrate milestone anniversaries close to each other. Last year, TEDxLusaka celebrated its tenth anniversary and eighth event, and this year, BongoHive marks its tenth anniversary supporting innovation and entrepreneurial growth in Zambia and beyond. Both organisations share a passion for innovation, shaping and spreading ideas that elevate our society and Zambia. They are driven to champion ideas, innovations and people that show how rich Lusaka and Zambia are with talent and resourcefulness.
One of BongoHive’s founders is also a TEDxLusaka founder. Simunza Muyangana is Director of Entrepreneurship at BongoHive, and with Masuka Mutenda and Kupela Clarke, worked hard to set up the first TEDxLusaka event in 2011. Since then, he has been a strong champion of TEDxLusaka, and as the organisation grew, ensured that BongoHive remained active in supporting TEDxLusaka activities. From providing space for speaker rehearsals and Organising Committee meetings to being the Command Centre for the 2020 and 2021 livestreams, BongoHive has been integral to TEDxLusaka’s success.
