Since the first event in 2010, TEDxLusaka has relied on a strong community to bring ideas worth spreading to the TEDxLusaka stage. Year after year, the Organising Committee established partnerships with businesses and organisations in Zambia interested in supporting this engaging platform. Many of these partnerships are born from relationships with a community who enjoy and support the exchange of ideas.
Once again, our community partners have shown how much they value the TEDxLusaka event.
BongoHive Innovation and Technology Hub joins us again as a partner to support many technical aspects of the livestream event and as the base of operations for the Organising Committee to coordinate among other things, social media activity, and the speaker/ participants’ engagement. BongHive Executive Director, Lukonga Lindunda had this to say about the partnership: We are excited about partnering with TEDxLusaka yet again. We believe in the power of ideas and that’s why we work with great minds building viable solutions that change the world. This year’s theme, Metamorphosis, resonates with us as we work with entrepreneurs, helping them change and improve their ideas on their journey to self-actualisation. We look forward to all the amazing ideas that this year’s speakers will share.”
This year, we have two new community partners: ACCA Zambia and the Zambia Italian Cultural Centre (ZICC).
ACCA Zambia has an extensive membership of professionals that work in a wide range of sectors. These sectors all contribute to Zambia’s society that is enriched by the exchange of innovative ideas. “ACCA and TEDx Lusaka have shared views during this time of tremendous change to create spaces for conversations focusing on transformation, to achieve solutions with a lasting positive impact on our country,” said Janice Matwi, ACCA Zambia Country Head.
Speakers will deliver their talks from the newly-built ZICC auditorium, that provides adequate social distancing space and state-of-the-art stage and sound facilities for live events. We are grateful to be offered this space for our event, and we hope it will be the beginning of a wonderful partnership.
